| The Grade II listed building was completed in 1906 in the style of an old English coaching inn. It is surrounded by a further 900 Grade II listed houses built by William Hesketh Lever for his soap-factory workers.
The hotel was a temperance hotel until 1903 when the vote was cast and the sale of alcohol was allowed. It still retains many of its original features and if you wish to see downstairs and the old servants quarters, the team will be happy to oblige.
